Services for cycletourists: mobility and logistics

Cycling the Camino del Cid is a unique experience, but we know that doubts arise: how to get to the start? what do I do with my luggage? what if I have a breakdown? Here we offer you some advice.

Transport of persons, bicycles and luggage

Taxis en route

  • Present in many localities and very flexible. If in doubt, call the local town hall.
  • Many rural taxis have 7-9 seater vehicles and bike racks.
  • Tip: always ask about capacity and price.
  • Check our service finder (select: Private transport services).

Bus lines

  • Important: check timetables and whether bicycles are accepted (bags may be required or the number of bicycles may be limited). Always check with the company before travelling.

Trains

  • They are a good option in capitals and large cities.
  • Bicycle transport conditions vary according to the type of train and may require reservations.
  • The Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza line will be under construction until November 2025; Renfe offers alternative buses but without bicycle transport.

Discretionary transport (minibuses and tailor-made buses)

  • It is an increasingly interesting alternative. Ideal for groups or organised trips.
  • They allow you to specify your needs: number of people, bicycles, pick-up and drop-off points.

Shipping and collection of bicycles

Several courier companies pick up your bike at home and deliver it at the start of your route or return it at the end:

  • Correos - Paq Bicicleta: boxed delivery (max. 20 kg, also electric), office to office. Including insurance.
  • MRW: up to 25 kg, with insurance. Does not accept electric bikes.
  • Nacex - Nacexpromo Bicicletas: includes box, max. 20 kg, with insurance.
  • Other options: SEUR, DHL, and specialised services such as SendYourBike..

Bicycle rental and repair shops

  • If you prefer to rent your bike on route, visit our bike rental section, with a wide variety of bikes (mtb, gravel, electric), accessories (lights, saddlebags) and options for reception and delivery.
  • There are rental points and workshops in various locations along the route. Find them in our service finder.
  • Some offer delivery/collection and assembly services for bikes sent by courier.
  • Repairs: rural areas may have fewer workshops; ask before setting off where there are service points and if they can collect your bike

Services for international cyclists

There are more and more international travellers on the Camino del Cid:

  • Companies like Care4luggage and Camino Fietstransport offer bike transport between Spain and the Netherlands (mainly for the Camino de Santiago, but with pick-up in Valencia and Burgos).
  • Taxi Ramón Nuño, in Burgos, picks up at all airports in Spain with a 5-passenger and 5-bike carrier.
