In August, Xátiva, in the province of Valencia, celebrates the oldest fiestas in the Region of Valencia. This traditional event dates back to the 13th century, a privilege granted to the town by king Jaime I.
Besides the sale of livestock and typical produce, the August Fair has a full programme of activities: concerts, theatre representations, contests, sporting competitions, regional folklore, fireworks, “tiro y arrastre” (competition where animals have to drag loads), young bull-running, bullfights…
When?: August.
